Trivia:It's never been reprinted or reworked, as a number of other Horrific and Weird Terror stories have been!
The writer's identity has been lost to the mists of time, due to the disappearance of the records of the long-defunct company!

I am no scholar, or whatever, but... does this version of vampirism serve as a metaphor for homosexuality? He is fed on by the vampire while the woman sleeps, then becomes the same as him and eventually leaves her to give in to his new life and live among those like him. Seems pretty obvious, to me. I dunno.
ReplyDeleteRemember this was the repressed 1950s. Comics used metaphors to convey social issues, like EC did with the classic "Judgement Day", using blue and orange robots to portray racism! https://atocom.blogspot.com/2023/02/space-hero-saturdays-weird-fantasy.html
